The Google Sandbox

If you pay attention to search engine optimization news, there is no doubt that you have heard about Google's sandbox. The sandbox has actually been around for a while now, starting early in 2004 after Google finished with their widely talked about Austin and Florida updates. Google's sandbox effects you more than you may know, and you may be caught by surprise when you learn just how much impact this may have on your business.

What is the Sandbox?

First, it must be noted that not everyone is convinced that there actually is a sandbox. Google certainly would never confirm or deny the existence of any filter or wrinkle in their algorithm, so the Google sandbox is nothing more than a theory based on the information we are able to see in their results.

The Google sandbox is a simple filter that is placed on most new websites. When a new website is launched, it is not immediately accepted into the web community. Rather, it is put on "hold" for a little bit
